Karyn grew up near Edmonton but has called Calgary home for the majority of last 25 years, where she now lives with her husband and two teenage sons. She started her career as a physical therapist in Calgary before relocating to Brisbaine, Australia to complete her Masters Degree in Physiotherapy at Queensland University in 2000. She returned to Calgary after her Masters program and subsequently undertook temporary relocations to London, England in 2002 and Loveland, Colorado in 2009, where she continued to practice as a physical therapist and enjoyed working with a wide range of patient groups. Karyn has spent over 25 years practicing as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. She is a certified Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) practitioner and a fellow of the Canadian Association of Manipulative Therapists.
Karyn uses her specialized skills and training in manual therapy, intramuscular stimulation/trigger point dry needling and functional movement to help her patients return to their activities and the life they want to lead as quickly and effectively as possible. Whether she is working with an elite athlete, a weekend warrior, or a patient with complex/chronic pain, Karyn is continually inspired to challenge herself to provide effective solutions that allow her patients to be pain free and to reach their full potential.
Outside of the clinic, Karyn has a passion for sharing her knowledge and expertise in dry needling with other physiotherapists and chiropractors. She has instructed dry needling courses for more than 10 years and in 2017 she founded On Point Needling, a Canadian owned teaching company that offers training courses throughout Canada. Karyn spends much of her spare time in the Columbia Valley, pursuing her love of skiing, mountain biking and paddle boarding with her family and friends.
